Council

Role of the council

The role of the council is to advise management for the benefit of the Cancer Research Department as a whole. Its roles are as follows:

  • Discuss and vote on the Internal Regulations (IR);
  • Analyse and approve the affiliation of new teams;
  • Discuss and vote on the use of the annual budget;
  • Appointing committees restricted to certain members or extended to other members (HDR);
  • Setting the terms and conditions for the composition, organisation and operation of the CSI;
  • Approving applications for thesis registration as part of a VAE (validation of acquired experience);
  • Discussing training offers;
  • Discuss the scientific policy of CanBioS;
  • Establish criteria for the distribution of doctoral contracts when awarded by establishments/institutions.
  • Propose the Director and Deputy Director (Director validated by UCBL1);
  • Define the criteria for thesis defence.

The Council meets at least three times a year, with the CanBioS doctoral school management organising a meeting with doctoral student representatives before each Council meeting.
